The Role of Gaming in the Future of Education

James Paul Gee, a professor at Arizona State University, is known for his work on the educational applications of video and computer games.  In this short video he shares some of his ideas on the power of these technologies to prepare students for the future.

  1. Online gaming certainly does create social networking opportunities and fosters the development, or perhaps creates frameworks for collaborative and other skills associated with group activities that we also need in the non-gaming world. However, knowledge is another matter….more later.
